What are the unique features of the BL1000SS that is specific for timeshares?
BeLine continues to boast its top rating in the lodging industry. Out of all the lock models that BeLine has, the BL1000SS is BeLine's only lock available for time shares that accepts remotely generated codes. You'll never have to preprogram guest access codes on the BL1000SS. The only codes that are preprogrammed are override codes for maintenance and cleaning staff. The BL1000SS is also equiped with an Anti Tamper feature that prevents somebody from guessing codes. Our product package is very popular because software is offered to provide all the code generation and control for the life time of the lock. We don't require you to login to our site or ask you to subscribe to a service to generate codes.

How can the BL1000SS be used in an apartment complex?
The BL1000SS can be used in an apartment just like timeshares. Apartments need on the fly lockouts. Apartments will mostly likely use the override lockout feature on a monthly basis. Also, the BL1000SS is a standalone lock, so running cables for networking and power is not necessary therefore eliminating added costs. Wireless is also not required. In an apartment setting the property manager will mostly like use the iButton key fob to be used as keys. Whenever a new iButton key fob or code is issued to the renter, the BL1000SS will automatically recognize them and provide entry. The property manager never has to physically go to the lock to load the information.

I have a public entry way in my apartment, can I use the BL1000SS for this common entry way?
Yes. Since this entry way will be used more often it is advised that you use 4 AA Lithium batteries instead of regular Alkaline.

How do I generate codes and load them to the BL1000SS?
Code generation is performed on the management software. The user interface is very simple. You will type in the serial number of the lock and the desired the start and end time of the the code. The software will then generate a code that will pass on to the person leasing the timeshare. You do not have to load this code on the lock in order for it to work.

I don't want my customer to use a code to gain access. Can they use a card?
No they cannot use a card. They can use a key fob to gain access. Let's discuss why you shouldn't use plastic cards for timeshares first. Plastic cards are very cheap and are mostly used by the hotel industry. As you know those cards very often lose information and that is why people need to go back to the front desk to get their card reprogrammed. As timeshare owners, you are mostly like very far away and cannot attend to every single problem dealing with technical card issues. Also, it is very inconvenient to the customer, especially if they cannot enter their rental very late at night. We use a very durable key fob that is used like a card. It is called an iButton. Here is a picture of some iButton key fobs that attach to a key chain ring.

These key fobs can withstand a serious amount of abuse so you're almost guaranteed that this will operate flawlessly for your renters.

Is there another purpose for the iButton on the BL1000SS?
The iButton also acts as a device to extract information from the BL1000SS. The BL1000SS transmits the last 4000 entries to the iButton. This audit trail can then be displayed for review on the software.

Is the BL1000SS considered a remote code generation type of lock?
Yes. This is BeLine's unique feature that timeshares need. Codes that are generated will unlock the BL1000SS and those same codes do not have to be loaded to the lock. Also, iButton key fobs can be remotely activated. Again, without needing to load information to the lock.

What is a code generation service?
BeLine doesn't use this method but we will explain it. A code generation service is a service you must subscribe to in order to generate access codes for your lock. Remote code generation services require you to register the serial number of the lock at the website offering the code generation service. Each time you need an access code you will log into the website to generate a code for your customer. Most people don't like this because of forwarding looking purposes like if the site is abandoned or there is an interruption with internet service, codes cannot be generated. Beline provides the software for your locks. You don't have to come back to us to generate codes.

How is it possible that the lock can identify active iButton key fobs and codes without programming or loading this information to the lock?
Our algorithm is very complicated and it took many years to develop. Each lock has a serial number. When generating codes or activating iButton key fobs the serial number is required with other information parameters, like start time and end time. The software runs all these parameters through our algorithm to generate a code. The code can be used to gain access to that specific door by typing in the code or the code can be stored onto an iButton key fob whereby the user touches the iButton to the lock to gain access. This application is very unique and it is proven.

How is the BL1000SS powered?
4 AA batteries.

How long will 4 AA batteries last?
Typically 24 months. Some of our customers have gotten 30 to 36 months life out of their batteries because their rate of entry is not as high as others.
